About Justice by Design

Where medicine, law
and equality meet.

Patient-led research into how policy and institutional decisions affect people using prescribed cannabis medicine.

How this report was developed

AI tools assisted research and drafting. The report uses original-source checks, and the author takes responsibility for its content. Author checks and independent clearance are distinct.

Contextual JBD imagery

Justice by Design brings together documentary research, legal and policy analysis, institutional correspondence and attributed patient experience. Its purpose is to make the strongest case the evidence supports and give readers direct routes to test it.

Pete Lindsay is the author of Discrimination by Design. His foreword explains the personal experience and civil service background that led him to investigate the additional criminal burden attached to smoking lawfully prescribed cannabis medicine.

A wider research programme

The interim report is one publication within work spanning clinical practice, patient information, enforcement, equality, decision-making and care. Different readers need different routes through that material.

Original records, institutional statements, JBD’s analysis and its recommendations remain distinguishable. A source library gives those records context; ongoing research pages show how questions and responses develop.
