About Justice by Design

Justice by Design is an independent, evidence-led initiative set up by Pete Lindsay, who suffers from a severely debilitating condition known as Functional Neurological Disorder (FND)* – a condition which, in his case, is greatly improved by the use of prescribed medical cannabis. Justice by Design is exploring how UK law and policy affect patients prescribed cannabis-based medicines. It brings together legal analysis, clinical insight, and lived experience to examine where existing frameworks fall short of equality and public-sector duties.

At its core is Discrimination by Design, a detailed legal and policy briefing submitted to government in 2025. The publication serves as a living document – updated as new research, evidence, and correspondence emerge – ensuring the analysis remains accurate, transparent, and grounded in current practice.
